FLL airport offers several modes of transportation to get not only to downtown Miami but also to downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Transfer between terminals to the economy parking and the Rental Car Center is available from 6 pm to 9 pm every day.
Broward County Transit (BCT) provides bus service at Fort Lauderdale Airport. The company operates the mass transit Route 1, which links the airport with different bus stops along with the airport. The bus stop location is at the rental car center, stop #7.
Tri-Rail - commuter train runs to Miami and the counties of Dade, Palm Beach, and Broward. Passengers need to take a free shuttle bus from the airport to get to the station, which is located at Dania Beach, a few miles away from the airport. The shuttle bus departs from the west end of Terminal 1, between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, and between Terminal 3 and Terminal 4. The Tri-Rail commuter covers Miami-dade County, Broward County, and Palm Beach County. Fares depend on zones. One way to downtown Fort Lauderdale costs $3.75.
Various companies provide taxi services at the airport. There is low regulating taxi fare. The average fee for a taxi is $19 to get to downtown Fort Lauderdale, and it takes 6 minutes. The trip to downtown Miami takes 30 minutes, and it will cost you $76. There is an additional charge of $3 from the airport to any destination. You can find a taxi outside of the first (arrivals) levels of each terminal. The service is available for 24 hours.

Outside the lower level of each terminal door, a free shuttle bus drives you from terminal to terminal. A free shuttle tram connects the lower level of the parking garage to all terminals. Tram stops are situated within the Garage Complex. The trams operate every 8 minutes.
